Themed video date evenings — vegan night, dog people, sober social, runners. We only check dealbreakers, not full compatibility, so the lineup is fast, broad, and built around the one specific thing the night is about.

How a themed night works

A themed night is BlinkDate run as speed dating: up to 7 short, 8-minute video dates back-to-back, no profile reveal beforehand, in-call icebreakers, and you can leave any call any time. Everyone in your lineup shares the theme of the night — vegan, dog people, climbers, etc. — so every call already has a starting point.

The matching itself is intentionally light. Unlike a regular Friday or Sunday lineup (where we run full compatibility scoring across your whole quiz), at a themed event we only check your hard dealbreakers. Two things tie the room together: those dealbreakers line up, and you all care about the theme. Everything else is what the conversation is for.

What we still check (dealbreakers)

Dealbreakers are the answers you marked in the quiz as “non-negotiable.” We never put you in a lineup with someone who clashes on one of these — even at a themed event:

Distance — we respect the maximum miles you set, so nobody on the call is too far to actually meet up.

Relationship structure — monogamous, monogamish, ENM, or polyamorous, we only put compatible structures together.

Kids — wanting kids, not wanting kids, and already-have-kids-and-that’s-it preferences are honored.

Religion — when you’ve marked your faith as a dealbreaker, we only show you others in your faith.

Diet — dealbreaker-strict diets (vegan, kosher, halal, etc.) are matched only with compatible eaters.

Substances — alcohol, nicotine, and cannabis boundaries you marked as hard limits are honored on both sides.

Pets — if dogs or cats are a hard no, you won’t be matched with someone whose life revolves around one.

That's the entire matching pass for a themed night. No personality scoring, no values overlap, no “90% compatible” vibe. Speed dating, but everyone in the room already passes your bar.

Themed nights vs. regular Friday / Sunday lineups

On a regular weekend lineup we run our full compatibility match: dealbreakers plus a deeper scoring pass across your whole quiz, so the people you meet are tuned to your taste, not just your hard limits. Themed nights skip that second pass on purpose — the theme is the filter, the dealbreakers keep it safe, and speed is the point.

Pricing

One themed night is $14, paid once. No subscription, no auto-renewal, no account upgrade. You sign up, take the short quiz (mostly dealbreaker questions if you're only here for events), pay for the night you want, and we add you to that evening's lineup. If we can't fit you in (lineups are capped to keep the matching tight), we refund you in full and offer first dibs on the next one.
