We collect what we need to introduce you to compatible people on a video call. We don't sell your personal information. Video dates are automatically monitored for safety. When you and a match both want to keep talking, we share your phone numbers with each other. You can delete your account and your data at any time from Settings.

BlinkDate ("we," "us") respects your privacy. This Policy explains how we collect, use, and share personal information when you use our mobile app and related services.

By using BlinkDate, you agree to this Policy along with our Terms of Service.

Account and profile: email address, phone number, name or display name, date of birth, and the city and state you provide. Location is approximate and user-provided; we do not track your precise location.

Quiz and preference answers you give during onboarding, used to match you with compatible people.

Activity: how you use the app (for example, sign-ins, dates and events you view or join, who marked an interest in continuing, and support messages).

Video date safety frames: still frames captured periodically from video dates for automated safety review (see "Safety and content moderation" below).

Device and technical data: device type, operating system, app version, push notification tokens, crash reports, identifiers used for analytics and fraud prevention, and approximate location derived from IP when permitted.

Purchases: subscription or event purchase status via your platform's in-app purchase system (the App Store or Google Play). We do not receive your full payment card number.

We use information to create and secure your account, verify your phone number, match you with compatible people, run video dates, surface in-call icebreakers from things you have in common, process payments, send service-related messages, improve and debug the Service, enforce our policies, and comply with law.

We may use aggregated or de-identified data that cannot reasonably identify you.

Video date calls are automatically monitored for safety. During a call, still frames are captured periodically and analyzed by an automated AI system, operated with a third-party AI processor, to detect nudity, sexually explicit conduct, and other abusive content.

Content flagged by the automated system may be reviewed by our staff. Violations can lead to immediate account suspension.

Safety frames are retained only as long as needed for moderation, including any related review or appeal, and are then deleted.

Other users see the profile information you choose to display. Your identity stays hidden from a match until you are both on the call together.

When you and another user mutually match after a date, we share your phone number with your match (and theirs with you) so you can keep the conversation going.

We share data with service providers who assist us — cloud hosting, video infrastructure (Stream), SMS verification (Twilio), payment processing (Apple and Google), and AI processing for safety moderation and matchmaking (Anthropic) — subject to confidentiality and data-processing terms, and only what they need to do their job. Under our agreements with these vendors, your quiz answers and video safety frames are not used to train their AI models.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger or acquisition in accordance with law.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Where "sale" or "sharing" has a specific legal meaning in your region, we honor applicable opt-out rights as described below.

We retain information as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and enforce our agreements. Video date safety frames are kept only as long as needed for moderation. You may request deletion of your account subject to lawful exceptions.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

You can update or delete certain profile information in the app. You may be able to control notifications through device settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights. You may appeal our response where applicable law allows.

BlinkDate is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may process and store information in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection rules than your home country.

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the new version in the app and update the "Last updated" date.
