Community guidelines
The shared rules that keep BlinkDate a place worth showing up to.
Why we have these
BlinkDate works because every member treats every other member like a real person on the other end of the call. These guidelines exist to make sure that never gets lost. Breaking them can result in a warning, a suspension, or a permanent ban from the Service.
Be a good date
Show up to the calls you commit to. If something comes up, cancel in the app so we can rematch.
Treat your match with the same respect you’d want at the other end of a video call.
Keep the conversation in good faith. The 8 minutes are short, make them count.
If it’s not a match, that’s fine. Either of you can leave any time, no explanation needed.
Be honest about who you are
Give honest answers in the quiz. Bad data leads to bad matches.
Don’t impersonate anyone or set up an account on someone else’s behalf.
Don’t use BlinkDate to promote a product, service, or another platform.
Things that get you removed
Harassment, hate speech, threats, or any form of intimidation.
Sexually explicit content or unsolicited sexual conversation, including in calls.
Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion, child sex trafficking, or any content or conduct that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers a child. BlinkDate has zero tolerance for this behavior.
Sharing or threatening to share another member’s personal information.
Recording or screenshotting calls or in-app conversations. (BlinkDate itself performs automated safety monitoring of video dates, as described in our Privacy Policy — but members recording each other is never allowed.)
Soliciting money, scams, or anything that looks like one.
Underage use of the Service. BlinkDate is 18+ only.
Safety
Report a member or date with the in-app reporting tools, or email the BlinkDate Safety Team at hello@blinkdate.ai with “Child Safety” or “Safety” in the subject line. Our team reviews safety concerns and takes appropriate action. Read our Child Safety Standards for our complete CSAE prevention, reporting, and enforcement policy.
Appeals
If your account is suspended and you believe it shouldn't be, reply to the notice we send you. A different team member than the one who reviewed your account will look at the appeal.
